My name is Brooklyn Hetzel. I completed the Concurrent Bachelor of Education ECE program with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at The University of Windsor in Ontario. I am both a certified teacher as well as an Early Childhood Educator. I previously taught for the public school board in Windsor-Essex County in various roles before moving to Inuvik in August 2019. I have additional qualifications in math, reading, FNMI education, physical education, library, and teaching students with Autism. I am also a special education specialist and kindergarten specialist. Before I became a teacher, I provided respite care to individuals with disabilities and worked at the John McGivney Children’s Centre which provides care, learning opportunities, assistive technology, and therapy to children with complex needs. I am a lifelong learner and I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, and watching videos to learn about new things.
